Voxrill Privacy Policy

Overview

Voxrill is a local-first macOS transcription, translation, and AI assistant app. The developer does not operate an analytics, advertising, account, or content-processing server for Voxrill and does not sell personal information.

Audio and transcripts

Voxrill accesses microphone or system audio only after the user starts capture and grants the relevant macOS permission. When a local model is selected, audio, transcripts, translations, and AI prompts are processed on the Mac.

If the user enables a cloud provider, the content needed for that feature may be sent directly from the Mac to the endpoint configured by the user. Voxrill does not proxy or receive those requests. Processing by that provider is governed by the provider's own privacy policy and the user's agreement with it.

Information stored on the Mac

• App preferences, session metadata, optional saved audio, and transcripts are stored in the app's local sandbox.
• API keys are stored in the macOS Keychain when the user chooses to save them.
• Downloaded speech and language models are stored locally and can be removed by the user.
• Voxrill does not include third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Model downloads and purchases

Model downloads may connect to the model host identified in the app. The host may receive ordinary network information such as an IP address and request metadata, but Voxrill does not include captured audio or transcript content in model-download requests.

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Voxrill receives purchase and entitlement status from StoreKit but does not receive payment-card details.

Retention and deletion

Local content remains on the Mac until the user deletes it in Voxrill or removes the app's data. Saved provider credentials can be removed from the app's settings or macOS Keychain. Data sent to a user-configured provider is subject to that provider's retention and deletion controls.

Children

Voxrill is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through Voxrill.

This website

The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Normal network requests include IP addresses and request metadata needed to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Voxrill does not add advertising trackers or analytics scripts to this website.
